Do I need a license to rent a powerboat?
No boating license is required at this time. It does however help if you have some previous boating experience. We will give you instructions explaining the speed limits and boundaries. Maps are available. We will explain the boat operations with you before you depart. We also recommend you take a look at www.boatus.org for boating and safety information. It is your responsibility to make sure you are qualified to safely operate the boat.
What age must I be to rent a boat?
One must be 25 years and older to rent inboard cruisers and speedboats. One must be 21 years and older to rent small outboard fishing boats.
One must be 18 years of age and older to rent kayaks, canoes and pedal boats. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign for rental authorization.
What ID is required to rent a boat?
We require photo ID for all boat rentals. Power boats rentals must have valid photo ID as well as a valid credit card.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, visa, mastercard, American express, and discover cards. Power boat rentals require a deposit on a credit card before departure. If paying by cash, we will void the deposit when the boat has been returned and the rental is paid in full.
Are life jackets provided with the rental?
Yes, all powerboats are equipped with adult size life jackets. Child size life jackets are available at the dock or you may bring your own. Life jackets are provided with each kayak, canoe and pedal boat rental as well.
Are there restaurants with docks nearby? What about restrooms?
Yes, Gig Harbor has a public dock with restrooms available. Also there are restaurants and docks along Ruston Way and at Point Defiance park. We have maps and can offer advice and locations to you. Some of our boats are equipped with small, but convenient enclosed heads.
Do you offer overnight rentals?
Yes, we have overnight rentals. The Larson Cabrio can sleep 4 people comfortably, has a galley, enclosed head with shower, and even a flat screen TV! We require that you have a dock reservation at a marina and complete a voyage plan before you depart.
Do you have boats that can accommodate larger parties for special occasions?
Yes, we have a party boat that accommodates up to twelve passengers. It is a great boat for families with children as it has full canvas enclosure, and is easy and safe to move around on. This boat is also accommodating for small group events, such as graduations, weddings, funerals etc.
Burial at sea, the scattering of cremated remains in the ocean, has long been an attractive form of final resting place. We can assist you in a caring and professional manner for those who chose this type of service.
